A The Godfather's inspired magic item

If you've seen the movie The Godfather, you certainly know the famous opening scene, where Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando) listens to his friend Bonasera's request for revenge. You also certainly remember the famous cat that made history in cinema by being on Marlon Brando's lap.

This homebrew magic item references this scene and will certainly bring memorable moments to your campaign! It is a perfect item to give to that criminal underworld villain and will be a great reward for the players when they defeat him.

The Irrefusable Cat

Woundrous item, very rare

A dead, stuffed cat that comes to life when it's placed on someone's lap. The cat cannot hurt anyone, willingly leave the lap, or take any action other than moving around the lap, disrupting any conversation that its owner may be trying to have. After ten minutes on your lap, the cat will be an inanimate object again until the next sunrise. The cat is not considered a living creature. As long as the cat is animated on your lap, it guarantees you the following treats:

Discussing Business:

You can add your proficiency bonus to two of the following skills of your choice, if you are not already proficient in them: Persuasion, Intimidation, Deception or Insight. Alternatively, you can double your proficiency bonus to one of these skills as long as you are already proficient in it and do not have any other features that double your proficiency bonus on that skill (such as Expertise, for example).

An Offer They Can't Refuse:

If you fail a Persuasion or Intimidation check, you can reroll the dice. You cannot use this ability again until you complete a long rest.
